Our wonderful volunteers make a large scale event like Run2Cure possible. Would you like to join in?

We need over 120 volunteers to assist us on the day so if you don't want to run but would still like to help, please complete the form below. Individuals or corporate teams are very welcome. If you are under 18, you need to also register an adult and advise us by email please.

Volunteer Participation Agreement

I acknowledge that:

  1. I have agreed to participate as a Volunteer in the Neuroblastoma Australia Incorporated Run2Cure fun runs and walk (Event) organised by Neuroblastoma Australia Incorporated and O2 Events (Event Organisers) at my own risk. I will take all reasonable measures to protect myself from any risks arising from my participation as a volunteer.
  2. I agree to work under the guidance and supervision of the Event Organisers in a constructive and co-operative way and to follow the reasonable instructions directed by the Event Organisers at all times.
  3. I am responsible for all property I bring to the Event sites and acknowledge that the Event Organisers accept no responsibility for any loss or damage to my property.
  4. I consent to the conduct of any identity verification checks and background security checks the Event Organisers deem necessary as well as any other security checks (which may include inspecting my personal property) prior to my entry to and departure from any Event sites.
  5. I release the Event Organisers (and each of their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, sponsors and/or agents) from any claim and from any liability (to the extent permitted by law) for or as a result of any loss, injury or damage suffered by me in relation to my attendance and participation as a Volunteer at the Event, however so caused, including any claim or liability which arises due to any negligence of the Event Organisers (and/or their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, sponsors and / or agents).
  6. I indemnify and will keep indemnified the Event Organisers (and each of their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, sponsors and / or agents) in respect of any action, suit, proceeding, claim, demand, damage, penalty, cost or expense by any person and from any liability arising as a result of or in connection with my participation as a volunteer at the Event and/or a breach of this Agreement.
  7. I will take all reasonable care for the health and safety of all persons who may be affected by my acts or omissions and to perform my services as a volunteer safely and efficiently and with regard to all health and safety hazards of the Event notified by the Event Organisers. I will not do anything that may injure any person or expose any person to risk and will follow all safety procedures directed by the Event Organisers.
  8. I accept all responsibility for travel and medical insurance and for payment and/or reimbursement of medical/surgical expenses incurred on my behalf arising from my participation as a volunteer at the Event.
  9. I understand that the Event Organisers may take photographs or images or recordings of volunteers and I consent to the publication and/or use in any form of media whatsoever of my name, image, voice, statement or otherwise, in /or marketing materials / website without payment or compensation.
  10. I understand that I am volunteering my services to the Event Organisers and I will not receive any remuneration for my service, and that I will inform the Event Organisers when I no longer wish to be considered for further volunteering activities.
  11. I am not an agent or representative of the Event Organisers and do not have any authority or right to assume any obligation of any kind on the Event Organiser’s behalf, nor to bind or commit the Event Organisers in any way.
  12. To the best of my knowledge, I am not suffering from a condition which would prevent and/or render me unfit to work as a Volunteer at the Event.
  13. I am over the age of 12 years old.
  14. I understand that the Event Organisers may terminate my volunteering services if I do not comply with any aspect of this Agreement.
  15. I agree to inform the Event Organisers of any injuries sustained whilst undertaking volunteering activities.
  16. I have read and agreed to these terms and conditions.
  17. I understand that by supplying personal information including my e-mail address and mobile telephone number I will receive regular e-newsletter/SMS updates from the Event Organisers in order to keep me informed about my role at the Event & other volunteering opportunities at similar events requiring volunteers.

Privacy Declaration: The purpose of collecting this information is to enable Neuroblastoma Australia Incorporated and the Event Organisers to process your application as a volunteer for the Event. Your personal information will not be disclosed to any other party or used in any other way.

Types of Volunteer Roles

Run2 Cure 2019 Kent 20

Venue – Information & Registration – Crew

Volunteers at the Information & Registration tent are required to distribute participant bibs, process event day registrations & provide information about the event to participants. There will be FAQ booklets & Maps located at the Registration & Information Tent to assist in answering participant enquiries. Merchandise will also be available for purchase in the Registration & Information tent. Should you require assistance, please approach your Team Leader or Registration & Information Manager.

Venue – Bag Drop/Pick Up – Crew

As the Bag Drop/Pick Up Crew you will collect the athlete’s baggage and sort it in the baggage area. You will need to make sure baggage is placed in colour & numerical order. This is to ensure the collection process at the end of the race is as efficient as possible. Participants will line up to collect their baggage post-race.

Venue – Drink Station – Crew

As a Drink Station Crew member you are responsible for assisting with the set-up, pack-up and operation of Drink Stations within the venues. Volunteer crews will hand out cups of water to participants. Should you require assistance, you are asked to approach your Drink Station Team Leader.

Venue – Start / Finish Chute Marshall – Crew

Start / Finish Chute Crews are to position themselves throughout the start marshaling area. You will ensure participants self-seed correctly within the start chute (Prams and walkers to the back of the start chute and fast runners at the front). You will ensure participants do not stop within the chute once they have crossed the finish line and ensure that the finish line is clear at all times by directing participants toward the Drink Station & event site. You will also provide directional assistance and encouragement to participants within the Finish Chute and help with general public pedestrian control in the area. If you require any assistance please approach your Team Leader or Start / Finish Chute Manager.

Fun Day Assistant

Fun Day Assistants are located at the event venue (The Domain). You will be required to assist with set-up & pack-up of the Family Fun Day activities and provide information to participants about the activities. Other tasks you may be required to assist with are site clean-up and general customer service for the venue.

Please note that a Current Working With Children registration number is required to volunteer in this role.


Course Marshall – Crew

As a Course Marshall (CM) you are to follow instruction from your Team Leader or Course Supervisor. The Course Marshall job varies depending on your location & environment. You will set up, operate & maintain the area. You will also provide directional assistance and encouragement to participants and you will need to ensure the immediate area surrounding you is clean and free of obstacles.

Drink Station (DS) – Crew

As the DS Crew you set-up, operate and clean up the DS. You will provide cups of water to all runners as they pass. You will be supported by the DS Manager and DS Team Leader. Crew are to pack away & clean up their area before heading to the event site to assist with the 1km Little Heros Run/Walk.
